Fire Evacuation Drill Service
On-site Fire Evacuation Drill Service that puts your company’s fire safety training into practice
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the ‘Responsible Person’ to implement procedures, including drills, in the event of a fire.
The primary goal of a fire drill is to ensure everyone evacuates the building quickly and safely to a safe assembly point in a timely and orderly manner.
Our Fire Evacuation Drill service provides you with the opportunity to put your staff’s fire training into practice.
Primary Aims of the Fire Drill
- Ensure all occupants can evacuate safely and promptly via designated escape routes.
- Verify that fire detection and alarm systems operate correctly and alert everyone in all areas of the building.
- Test communication procedures for notifying emergency responders and coordinating on-site safety teams/fire wardens.
- Confirm the functionality of fire doors, emergency lighting, and directional signage under simulated conditions.
What We Do
- The Fire Evacuation Drill service is approximately 1.5 hours at your premises. This typically includes 30 minutes before the drill to discuss any last-minute details.
- We will observe the drill from start to completion.
- We will conduct an on-site debrief with the responsible person and relevant staff, such as fire wardens.
- We will provide you with a written report within 48 hours.
- One of our experienced instructors will oversee your fire drill, advise you, and guide you on improving the evacuation process.
Drill Requirements
- We will send you a pre-fire evacuation drill check sheet to complete.
- This checklist outlines all necessary information and requirements.
Cost
- £350 – no VAT to pay.
- Depending on the building’s size and number of occupants, conduct fire drills at least annually, preferably every 6 months.
Benefits of a Fire Drill
Regular fire drills deliver more than just practice evacuations. They build confidence, sharpen procedures, and uncover hidden risks long before a real emergency strikes.
Enhanced Safety Awareness
- Occupants learn how alarms sound, where exits lead, and the various escape routes.
- Fire wardens and safety officers refine their roles under realistic conditions.
- Repetition cements safety routines so responses become almost instinctive.
Improved Emergency Response
- Staff test communication protocols, including emergency calls, responder briefings, and team coordination.
- Key systems, including the fire alarm panel, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and exit doors, are verified under stress.
- Evacuation timings are captured, revealing bottlenecks in corridors, stairwells, or doorways.
Compliance and Risk Reduction
- Demonstrates adherence to fire safety regulations and insurer requirements.
- Provides documented proof of proactive safety management for audits and inspections.
- Early identification of procedural gaps prevents costly fines and legal exposure.
Cultural and Psychological Benefits
- Builds a stronger safety-first mindset across all levels of the organisation.
- Reduces panic by familiarising everyone with what to do, lowering anxiety during actual events.
- Encourages teamwork and trust as people rely on one another to execute well-practised plans.
