Cambridgeshire Fire Statistics
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) is the statutory fire and rescue service for the non-metropolitan county of Cambridgeshire and the unitary authority of Peterborough. Its headquarters are in Huntingdon.
Cambridgeshire covers 1,311 square miles.
The service operates 27 fire stations and maintains a fleet of 41 fire engines, two rescue vehicles, two turntable ladder aerial appliances and several other specialist vehicles.
Recent Major Incidents (2026): The region has faced notable summer and seasonal operational demands, including a major wildfire at Holme Fen near Peterborough in August 2026 (which required crews from across the East of England and Merseyside) and ongoing rural/farmland safety warnings during dry spells.
